FAQ

As regards the healing time, it takes around one week. Some people bruise, and everyone swells.

  • No sunbeds for 1 week after the treatment (we recommend using SPF 50 on the lips if you’re going on holiday)
  • No alcohol 48 hours before or after treatment
  • No recreational drugs in your system before or after treatment
  • Vaseline application or Aloe Vera after treatment
  • No kissing
  • Massage the lips on the third day after treatment for 5 days (with clean hands)
  • No smoking for 30 minutes after treatment
  • Apply a cold compress to reduce spelling

Some clients are more susceptible to bruising after a dermal filler procedure, but this is nothing to be alarmed about; even the best injectors can give the patient a bruise, red spots, or temporary bumps with any cosmetic injectable.

If you bruise easily, you may need to allow 2 weeks for healing. Most bruises can be easily covered fairly well with makeup. However, if you have an extremely important event coming up, I would recommend having fillers done at least 3-4 weeks before the big day, as sometimes bruises can last for up to 14 days.

Remember a bruise may last 1-2 weeks but your cosmetic results will last much longer.

There is now a very specific type of procedure that you can book in for which will add definition and structure to your lips, making them appear shapely and luscious rather than swollen and over pouty. This method, which advocates the opinion that quality is always better than quantity, is called the Russian Lip technique. This type of procedure is more focused on injecting filler into the v-shaped central area of the mouth. The aim of this is to enhance the cupid's bow of the lips. This technique also focuses on achieving the sought-after heart shape, and a skilled practitioner can draw on this method to create full and defined lips which do not protrude from the face unnaturally.

B-Tox targets one of the underlying causes of wrinkles-the repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, and smiling over the years.

Injecting these muscles with B- tox temporarily reduces muscle activity, producing a visible smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles.

Patients may see improvements within 2-3 days of injection but can take up to 2 weeks to reach full effect and results last up to 4 months. Anti-wrinkle injections tend to last longer if you continue to have the procedure repeated. Initially, you may need to have the procedure repeated every 3-4 months to maintain the same results. Over time, most people find they can reduce this to every 4-6 months and still maintain the same appearance. The reason for this is that although the treatment has worn off, there will still be some reduction of muscle activity meaning it will take longer for lines to start forming again.

Some people experience minor bruising at the injection sites. On occasion some clients experience headaches - they don't tend to last more than 24hrs and they can be treated with simple painkillers. A rare complication can be a drop of the eyelid - this generally, wears off without treatment within about two weeks, and risk can be reduced by ensuring injection sites are anatomically accurate.

Dermal fillers are smooth, injectable gels. They are typically made from hyaluronic acid (HA), which occurs naturally in the body as the main ingredient of collagen. Collagen is the body's most abundant protein, providing structure and volume to the skin. It is a depleted part of the aging process. Injected by a qualified professional using a very fine needle, dermal fillers stimulate your body's natural collagen production and gently plump and lift the skin.
